Post-doc, senior scientist, and technician positions available

Kong Laboratory, UT Southwestern Medical Center

The Kong lab is looking for highly motivated researcher scientist joining a new team. Dr. Kong is a physician-scientist, assistant professor at Division of Digestive and Liver Diseases, Department of Medicine and McDermott Center for Human Growth and Development. His lab is interested in investigating the human genetics and immunology of digestive and liver diseases. Currently, the lab is conducting both clinical and translational research on celiac and non-celiac enteropathy, inborn errors of immunity, rare liver diseases, and Down Syndrome. His lab uses a genetic approach to understand uncommon clinical presentations and conduct next-generation sequencing to identify the genetic causes of rare diseases. Through a thorough biological and immunological investigation, the lab aims to understand better the molecular mechanisms of digestive and liver diseases. Dr. Kong published more than 40 articles with 11 being first-authors and discovered several new genetic disorders, include human SPPL2A deficiency (Nature Immunology, 2018), loss-of-function or gain-of-function STAT1 disorders (Blood, 2010; Journal of Experimental Medicine, 2011) and interferonopathy in Down Syndrome (Journal of Clinical Immunology, 2020).

For post-doc/senior scientist position, applicants should have a Ph.D in biomedicine, immunology, genetics, or MD with a clinical training in medicine, or equivalent combination of education, training and experience. Candidate with an ECFMG certificate will also be considered.
For technician, applicant should have a bachelor's degree in biology or computer science, a great opportunity for those interested in applying for medical school.
